Overlooking Gainesville’s storied Duckpond, where black swans drift gracefully across the water, this historic home offered a unique opportunity to blend timeless character with elevated, thoughtful living. Our renovation focused on the kitchen, primary bathroom, and entry foyer—spaces where we honored the home’s traditional roots while introducing thoughtful, contemporary refinements.

In the kitchen, bespoke dusty blue cabinetry is paired with Fantasy Brown quartz countertops and backsplash—a nod to classical craftsmanship with modern-day durability. Brass hardware and light fixtures replace utilitarian can lights, casting a warm glow over the porcelain checkerboard flooring in soft gray and white. A brick column, uncovered during construction, was preserved and celebrated—offering a tactile reminder of the home’s rich past.

The dining room evokes playful sophistication, with custom swamp-patterned Roman shades and a mustard yellow banquette bench that invites both comfort and conversation.

For the primary bathroom, we reimagined the layout to create a serene, spa-like retreat. A generously scaled walk-in shower with dual showerheads stands opposite a freestanding soaking tub, framed by dual vanities offering abundant storage. Walls of Fantasy Brown quartz, light-colored finishes, soft blue hues, and brass accents come together in a palette that feels both classic and bold.

This project exemplifies our studio’s signature approach: honoring architectural heritage while breathing new life into each space—balancing reverence with reinvention to create interiors that feel both grounded and elevated.
