We visit your home, propose solutions for your functional needs, answer any questions, and provide on-the-spot design suggestions and ideas for you to execute on your own. This service kicks off with you filling out a design questionnaire prior to our in-home consultation. Perhaps you want to discuss paint colors, a new furniture layout, need help choosing new flooring, are unsure about how to incorporate a vintage piece of furniture in your contemporary home, or have questions about how you might want to tackle a kitchen remodel but don’t know where to start. You tell us what you need and we’ll talk through it together!

This service includes:

• One 2-hour session of on-site consultation with a Chinotto House designer

Examples of recent Design Days include:

-Walking through a client's entire home selecting paint colors for walls, ceilings, trim + doors, inputted into a spreadsheet for their reference

-Reviewing a client's hard finish samples that they've collected for a renovation, making selections from those and building a Pinterest board with inspiration and additional selections (paint colors, wallpaper, light fixtures, mirrors, etc).

-Walking through a client's under-construction renovation and brainstorming finishing touches for each space. This included: choosing accent wall colors, reviewing wallpaper samples, looking through their art collection and helping them decide where to hang each piece, talking through furniture layouts, selecting roman shade fabrics, and reviewing upholstery swatches for furniture purchases

-Sitting down with client and their realtor to brainstorm ways to update the floor plan to suit their needs -- with an eye on future resale potential -Walking through a client's home and giving advice on small and large improvements she could make to update her home.

We begin each project with an exploratory site visit to get to know our clients, their space, and the overall project goals. During this initial site visit, we talk through functional needs and aesthetic aspirations for the project, the overall project budget (ie. how much a client can comfortably invest into construction, furnishing, and design fees), review any design inspiration, and develop a scope of work for our design services. Chinotto House then provides an estimate for our design fee and collects a non-refundable retainer to get the project rolling.

Once we’re under contract with a client, we develop a robust design roadmap that we utilize like a North Star as we seamlessly move into full service design development.

Tailored to each client’s unique set of needs and desires, this personalized design roadmap informs every project decision, from specific furniture pieces and wall treatments to any custom elements (millwork, layout changes, custom furniture, etc), lighting plans and styling.

From there, we move into design development: during this phase we are fleshing out the design elements, sourcing materials and furnishings, and managing contractors to implement any design changes. If construction project management is part of our scope, we help to build a team of trusted experts to get the project to the finish line and bring our design dreams into reality.

If product procurement is part of our scope, we can manage ordering, shipping, receiving, and delivery (for an added fee) and any additional project management needed, from arranging handymen to hang curtains, bringing in skilled wallpaper installers, to custom millwork fabrication and electrical installations, we ensure the project will be finished out to your satisfaction.

Full service projects typically include:

• Initial site visit + discovery meeting with designers + decision makers

• Design road map (overall design concept mood board, color palette + material palettes)

• Project portal creation: our shared hub for notes, project schedules, presentations, floor plans, quotes, etc.

• Design presentations + meetings

• Reviewing floor plans to ensure best use of space

• Furniture layouts for purchasing decisions (aka how do we layout the pieces and what sizes are we looking for)

• 3D design renderings + visualizations, as needed

• Budget tracking + estimating

• Lighting plans + design

• Hard finish, furniture, fixture, and accessories procurement

• All design selections organized into product schedules

• Contractor/subcontractor interviews

• Project management

• Styling + staging

In an effort to provide a premium service & experience to our clients, we are very selective when accepting new projects. We are currently seeking clients who desire contemporary design that honors the architecture of their space and pushes the envelope in terms of design. The first exploratory site visit is a $200 flat fee. If Chinotto House + clients agree to move forward into a full-service design plan, we credit one complimentary design hour as a thank you for our initial site visit.

If up-to-date digital floor plans / measurements are not already available, some projects may require a digital scan of the space so we can convert it into a floor plan with detailed measurements and 3D model. This may incur a small additional fee.
